Vassar Music Department concert series offers faculty, visiting artist, and student recital and ensemble performances, January 29-May 28, 2016

Members of the Vassar College music faculty along with Vassar student soloists and ensembles, and such renowned guest artists as the Attaca Quartet, Decoda chamber group, and opera singer Sharon Daniels will perform in the annual free concert series at Skinner Hall of Music from January 29-May 28.

Visiting artists include: the Attaca Quartet, a prize-winning, internationally acclaimed young group (2/7); the Alash Ensemble, masters of traditional Tuvan throat singing, a technique that allows for singing multiple pitches at the same time (2/27); Decoda, a chamber group that is an Affiliate Ensemble of Carnegie Hall (4/9); and the wind quartet, Venti (4/17).

Student organ and vocal (soprano) recitalists will be heard this spring as will students in the Vassar College Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, Women’s Chorus, Wind Ensemble, Madrigal Singers, Choir, and Jazz Ensembles.

Free and open to the public, all events take place in the Skinner Hall of Music on the Vassar campus, unless otherwise indicated. Programs are subject to change.
